• The CopperSmith Lanterns combine classic design with 20 oz. solid copper construction for superior structural integrity.  Their Copper is sourced from the finest suppliers around the world. 
• Fixtures can be fitted with either natural or propane gas burners or with electrical lighting options to meet any lighting requirement, allowing consistency throughout a project.
• All fixtures are fitted with solid brass hinges and latches for maximum durability.
• Mounts and accessories are finished with a durable high quality powder coat finish that is highly resistant to corrosion.  With our SWEA treatment, aluminum replaces our already extremely durable metals on all mounting devices and accessories.  They also make custom copper mountings and accessories when required. 
• Gas burner assemblies are constructed of solid brass with a disctinctive Fleur de Lis flame and are CSA certified as compliant with the highest safety standards in the industry.  They also offer  copper wind guards stained to match the lantern finish, for use in areas of high wind conditions. 
• Electric lanterns use brass sockets and can be fitted with the standard candelabra sockets or an optional medium base socket & glass chimney.
• The CopperSmith now uses a newly designed electronic igniter, designed and manufacturered specifically for their lanterns, to help overcome the challenges of electronic igniters.

How to Select Your Lantern

• Select the design you feel is the most suitable for your project.

• Select the proper size for you application.
• Select the fuel type, natural gas, propane or electric.
• Consider ways to enhance the beauty of your fixtures by choosing from the different mounts and accessories.
• Select your finish from either the standard antique or 3 other custom finishes.
• When ordering a hanging light first measure the ceiling height where the fixture will be mounted and how high the bottom of the fixture is to be off the ground. NOTE: Local codes generally require a minimum of 12" of clearance between the light fixture and the ceiling for gas operated lanterns and 6" of clearance on either side. Give us a call and we'll be happy to assist you in this process.  Order the proper size down rod for the lantern.
• If located near salt water, select your mountings and accessories from the salt water options. 
• You may call for advice and to place your order over the phone or order directly from the web site.  If purchasing a yoke mounted gas lantern, we suggest you give us a call before ordering to ensure the proper height of the finised lantern.

Selection

Gas Copper Lanterns specializes in The Coppersmith electric and gas lanterns. The Coppersmith offers the best selection with the best prices of copper gas and electric lanterns on the market today.  There are 30 design collections to choose from with multiple sizes in each and thousands of possible combinations using the standard mounting options and accessories, allowing  you to create your own special lantern at "off the shelf" prices.   

Warranty

All Lanterns are warranted for life to the original purchaser, when purchased from a CopperSmith authorized Distributor.  All aluminum components and accessories are warranted not to rust or corrode for 10 years and are suitable for salt water areas. While glass is not covered under the lifetime warranty we will replace any glass that is broken in shipment right away and we will replace any glass that breaks due to heat produced by the lantern for 1 year.  Glass panels are easily removed and new ones added in the field.  Glass that is out of the warranty period is available for purchase by the set.  If purchasing a lantern for Post or Column mounting or one that will be exposed directly to rain, snow and ice, please consider adding the optional solid copper tops to the lantern to avoid breakage due to extreme temperature changes or hail. For salt water and corrosive environments please order your lanterns with the optional Salt Water option offered with each lantern. Adding this option will ensure that all lanterns parts will remain rust free. We use Copper or aluminum mountings and accessories and all internal parts are either solid brass or stainless steel, including all nuts, bolts and washers. We specifically exclude from this warranty the cost of any labor required at the installation site or for delays in the shipment and receipt of merchandise.

Return Policy

Damages

Each lantern is inspected carefully before it leaves the shop. Please inspect your lanterns as soon as they arrive and report any shipping damages to us within 7 days of your receipt of the order. If possible please take a picture of the box and the contents containing damage and send to us via email with your description of the damage. If you are present when the packages arrive and see any damage to the boxes, please note that when you sign for the delivery. At our option, we will repair or replace your item and we will contact you by phone and email within 24 hours of your notice to us to make whatever arrangements are necessary to facilitate the repair or return.

Buyer's Remorse

Please remember that you are ordering an item that is made to be permanently installed on your home or project.  In some cases modifications may make the product unreturnable.  Items that have been installed are not returnable.   We are available to help you with your selection to make sure the item meets your requirements.  Careful consideration to your spatial requirements and local building codes should be given before placing your order. Should you choose to cancel an order once it's been placed, you may do so by calling us 800-910-3275 and sending a follow up email to service@gascopperlanterns.com requesting the order be canceled within 24 hours with no penalty.  Once an order has gone into production but not yet shipped, after the initial 24 hour grace period, we reserve the right to apply a 25% cancellation fee to your transaction. If you wish to return an item once it has been shipped, you must request an Return Authorization within 14 days of receipt of the item. We reserve the right to assess a re-stocking fee plus all shipping fees associated with the order. You will be responsible for returning the item via UPS once you receive a RA number from us. No returns are allowed for any item that has custom modifications or is a custom design.  If the option we have added for you is not listed as an option on the web site, it is a custom modification. Items finished other than antique copper are considered a custom modification and may not be returned. All finishes are hand applied and no 2 will be exactly the same, such differences are not considered defects.  Finishes will change, darken or take on a natural patina over time. This is part of the natural aging process and is not considered a defect. Please order lanterns that will be displayed near each other at the same time for the best match. Lanterns offered as close-outs may not be returned.

Do not refuse to accept a shipment from us. Refusing shipments can cause the items to be lost and damaged and is a violation of your sales agreement with Gas Copper Lanterns and will have a negative effect on any refund for the order.  All returns must have a valid RGA number per our terms and conditions.  While we offer free shipping on most original orders, original shipping costs must be reimbursed for any returns not due to damages or defects. 

Once one of our standard wall lanterns has been modified to fit a particular mounting requirement it may not be returnable.  Here is a list of those that cannot be returned other than for damaged or defective reasons. 

1.  Lanterns that have been converted from wall mounts to ceiling mounts including Chain Mounts, Yoke Mounts or Stem Mounts.  Substantial changes were made to accomodate these mountings.

2.  Lanterns that have flat tops that have been drilled to use with a Top Scroll or Finial

3.  Lanterns with finishes other than standard antique copper

4.  Lanterns with any custom modifications

5.  Custome Lanterns and Mountings or Accessories.  These required a signed approval and a deposit before production began.

Order Acceptance

Once you receive via email an Order Notification from Gas Copper Lanterns, the 24 hour time frame is in effect to cancel your order.
